Chair

Kenya Joseph was born and raised in New York City and her compassion for humanitarian aid, advocating for underserved communities has led her to her current role as President and Co-Founder of Hearts and Hands Food Pantry, a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2017 and has been a mainstay of the greater Charlotte and surrounding areas since inception. Kenya has over 20+ years of corporate finance experience and other proficiencies that have helped feed over 5,000 families and has fostered long-lasting, invaluable relationships with individuals throughout the community. During the height of Covid-19, Kenya used the resources of her food pantry to help fight homelessness and provide additional community resources, and exponential need in and around the greater Charlotte metro area. Kenya joined the Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council board in 2021 and took over leadership in 2022. Kenya looks forward to expanding her work in the nonprofit sector and continuing to build community partnerships that will transform the heart of Charlotte and beyond.
