WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program
We are thrilled to offer the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WICFMNP) in partnership with NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) FMNP and Mecklenberg County Public Health & Department of Social Services (DSS).
This is the first season of the program and there are three participating farmers markets.
The WICFMNP is a seasonal program offered through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) and local WIC offices. The program helps eligible WIC participants buy fresh fruits and vegetables from approved farmers at participating farmers markets. WICFMNP makes it easier for families to enjoy healthy, local food while supporting North Carolina farmers.
In Mecklenburg County, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council is helping families stretch their benefits even further. Eligible WICFMNP participants who show their WICFMNP card at the market information booth at a participating market will receive $30 in CMFPC market tokens once per market visit. These tokens can be used with approved vendors at any participating CMFPC market through September 30 or while funding lasts.
The 2026 season ends September 30, 2026.
