Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program

We are thrilled to offer the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in partnership with NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) Division of Aging and Mecklenberg County Department of Social Services (DSS).

This is the fourth season of the program with an expansion in participating farmers markets.

The Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program is a statewide summer-only initiative led by the NC DHHS Division of Aging, which came to Mecklenburg County in 2023. SFMNP aims to enhance the nutrition of older adults and support local farmers. Eligible seniors receive $50 in vouchers to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey at participating markets. This initiative helps seniors access healthy food while boosting sales for local farmers.

The 2026 season is July 1-September 30, 2026.

Enrollment opens July 1, 2026 at participating farmers markets.
