Food insecurity does not happen in isolation. It is deeply connected to wages, housing, transportation, healthcare, and longstanding disparities in opportunity.
At the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council, we build policies and strategies, develop partnerships, and administer programs that strengthen the local food system and address systemic gaps in access.
This work requires coordinated action at every level, from federal legislation to local planning and governance here in Mecklenburg County.
As conversations about hunger and food access evolve, we remain committed to elevating community voices and advancing solutions that reflect both the need and the lived experiences of our neighbors.
Walk with us as we continue sharing how food policy shapes the future of our region.
