About Us

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council is dedicated to creating a sustainable, equitable, and healthy local food system in Mecklenburg County. We actively engage with and amplify local community voices, nurturing a vibrant and inclusive food ecosystem. The council works collaboratively to drive positive change in the community's food-related issues. We are looking for a great data intern to support our work in key collection and analysis projects.

Internship Description

We are seeking a detail oriented intern to work remotely handling data and assisting with generating reports. The ideal candidate will be a college student interested in Public Health, Nutrition, Agriculture, or a related field and seeking to gain experience in data management.

Key Responsibilites

  • Accurately input and update data related to food access programs and community assessments

  • Help organize and format raw data to ensure readiness for analysis.

  • Assist in generating basic reports and summaries for program evaluation and reporting

  • Ensure all data is handled with the utmost care, respecting privacy and confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and stay organized in a remote work environment.

  • Basic problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data discrepancies.

  • Experience with database management or data entry systems is a plus (but not required).
