The Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council is dedicated to creating a sustainable, equitable, and healthy local food system in Mecklenburg County. We actively engage with and amplify local community voices, nurturing a vibrant and inclusive food ecosystem. The council works collaboratively to drive positive change in the community's food-related issues. We are looking for a great data intern to support our work in key collection and analysis projects.

Position Description

The Program Administrative Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and play a key role in supporting the organization’s administrative and operational systems through planning, coordination, and evaluation of community-based programs and initiatives that advance its mission and goals. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for community health and food security.

Key Responsibilites

  • Provides administrative, programmatic, and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of programs and initiatives.

  • Foster and strengthen community partnerships and collaboration to increase program reach and impact.

  • Assist in conducting community needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for interventions, and provide data to inform decision-making.

  • Evaluate programs to measure effectiveness and ensure the achievement of program objectives.

  • Plan, host, and evaluate community roundtables and forums to increase public engagement in promoting food justice.

  • Develop and share educational resources and informational materials through various communication channels.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's annual work plans.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, or a related field required.
● Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential or CHES eligible preferred.
● Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
● Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse audiences, including
Mecklenburg community members, community based organizations, healthcare
providers, government entities, local businesses, and other partners and stakeholders.
● Proficiency in digital communication tools, such as canva, mailchimp, and Google’s
ecosystem.
● Experience with program planning, implementation, and evaluation preferred.
● Based in Mecklenburg county or willing to relocate within 30 days of starting
employment.

Details & Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with occasional evening or weekend hours and both remote and in-person responsibilities.

 

Compensation: Salary is negotiable; $60k-$85k commensurate with experience
