
SNAP Double Bucks Customer Service Representative
Location: Charlotte Regional Farmers Market, Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Every other Saturday (Two Saturdays per month)
8:00 AM – 1:00 PM; 10 hours per month
Compensation: $20/hour (Contract Position)

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council is dedicated to creating a sustainable, equitable, and healthy local food system in Mecklenburg County. We actively engage with and amplify local community voices, nurturing a vibrant and inclusive food ecosystem. The council works collaboratively to drive positive change in the community's food-related issues. We are looking for a great data intern to support our work in key collection and analysis projects.
Position Description
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Customer Service Representative to administer the SNAP Double Bucks Program at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market. This program helps increase access to fresh, healthy food for SNAP recipients by providing additional funds to spend on eligible purchases.

The ideal candidate will have a warm and welcoming demeanor, be comfortable interacting with the public, and be highly organized when handling financial transactions. Training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure success in the role.
Key Responsibilites

Administer the SNAP Double Bucks Program at the farmers market.

Operate a financial processing terminal for SNAP transactions.

Accurately handle and track currency and transaction records.

Provide excellent customer service to SNAP recipients, vendors, and market visitors.

Educate customers on how the Double Bucks Program works.

Ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.

Maintain detailed records of transactions and report as needed.

Set up and break down materials needed for the program booth at the market.
Qualifications

Friendly, patient, and comfortable engaging with a diverse community.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and financial handling skills.

Experience with customer service, retail transactions, or financial processing is a plus.

Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a busy market environment.

Reliable transportation to the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market.
Additional Information
This is a contract position with a commitment of two Saturdays per month.
Training and support will be provided.
The role requires standing for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
